Weekly letter B teaching plan part 2

We've completed the learning letter A last week and Maya is now able to recognize the letter =)

Monday activities

Tracing letter B activity

For week 2, as per last week, I start to introduce the letter B and we did a bit of tracing (for tracing, I really need to pick a time where Maya is in a good mood, because yes, tracing is a bit boring for a three years old).

I focused on the correct formation of the letter and introduced words that start with letter B (bus, butterfly, boat, bee, book, bird, bear, baby)

"B for Bus" craft activity

Tools:
  • Colour paper
  • Magic pen
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Steps:
  • Write the letter B (write it like 3/4 of the paper)
  • Cut the shape B and glue it on a drawing block
  • Using another white paper make two circles (these will become the wheels)
  • Since I used the white paper for the wheels, I asked maya to colour it black
  • Then we glue the wheels to the bus and decorated the bus

I let her use the scissors to improve her motor skills

Then glue the letter B to the drawing block paper

Then let her decorate her bus

Friday activities

Today is last day of the week and we basically do the recap of what we've done so far for week 2. For all the activities that Maya did, I usually stick it on the wall. So today, I showed all the things that she did and tied it back to the letter B.

Treasure hunt letter B activities

For this activity, I bough the wood letter from MR DIY (~RM10, cant remember exact price). Since this week is learning about letter B, I hide the letter B around the room. Then I asked her to find it. When ever she is near the location where I hid it, I will make a "beep" sound and when she is reaching that place, i will make the "beep" sound even faster but when she is far away, I will keep quiet.

B for bubble playtime

Today is my lazy day, so its just a bubble playtime.
B for Bubble!

Singing song with letter B: BINGO

There was a farmer had a dog,
And Bingo was his name-o.
B-I-N-G-O!
B-I-N-G-O!
B-I-N-G-O!
And Bingo was his name-o

END
